Reflection: Final Grading Period

Time really runs fast. After three grading periods, we have now reached the last or the final grading.

In our fourth grading period, it was been hectic and lack of time because we, the Special Science Class students have take our final exams earlier than those of the Regular Class Students. But then, I admit that I've been troubled due of that, because it have been more difficult for me to finish all of my requirements at a given small period of time like my blogs and activities in ICT.

In our ICT subject in this grading, I learned the tips and guides in manipulating the Adobe Photoshop. In our discussions about Adobe Photoshop we edited photos individually, we used the healing brush tool, paint bucket tool, clone stamp tool and many other tools. It was fun editing images since each activity given to us took us 2 days to complete. :D

I promised to myself that I will always keep all knowledge that I’ve gain in this subject. I also promised that I will truly apply that knowledge in my everyday life. I will strive harder in my college life, for the fulfillment of my dreams.  :))

Farewell: High School Life

It's almost the end of the school year. It feels only like it's just yesterday when I'm struggling to graduate in high school but now, I'm graduating. I feel like, I don't want to leave high school.

Reminiscing my high school life makes me feel lonely. My friends would be on different schools, I would be away from my friends.I would feel incomplete. But I'm ready for it. I've been preparing for college for 12 years. I'm ready to be independent and smart enough to live a life without my parents, I would be learning more than inside a classroom, learning about time management, controlling temptations and a test for a discipline.

I have dreams to fulfill. Starting a new life, I mean the college life means being better. I would step to another level on the stairway to success. I'm ready again for obstacles, fights, loneliness and fun moments. Because of my inspirations in life, my family, friends, my ideal girl Phaula Louisse Catura and God. :))

Future: An Engineer

COLLEGE. I don’t think I can pass on the UPCAT so I didn’t tried to take the test. But, I’m planning to take an Entrance Examination on UNP as a Civil Engineer and PHILSCA as Aircraft Engineer.
I know that I’m not good in MATH but I know that we study because we want to learn. As an engineer someday, I’m planning to build my dream house, buy my dream cars and to be with my dream girl. She’s my classmate in High school. I hope we will be together someday (blushes).

I will study hard for my future, for my family at h=the present and for my so called own family for the future.

Change: It starts with me

“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” – Leo Tolstoy
You want to make a difference in this world, right? I’m no different from the rest of you in this respect – in fact, I’m probably more likely to claim this statement. Ever since I realized the mass potential of our lives, I’ve sub-consciously carried a mission to change the world and leave it a better place than when I found it.
What if we made a change in ourselves before hoping to change the world? What if we made sure our hearts, minds, and everything else was in the right place before doing well? Are we asking for people to be more loving, kind, and generous even though we haven't been loving, kind, or generous ourselves? This goes along with the quote by Ghandi that says "Be the change that you want to see in the world." The next time you go off to change the world make sure to reflect on who you are inside and out.

Change for the best not for the Better. J

Celebrating: Kannawidan Festival 2015

Ilocos Sur, our very own province has rich and stunning cultures and traditions that we Ilocanos must be proud of. In order to showcase these, we have important festives just to exhibit and promote products of ours and precious cultures of Ilocanos to attract and invite tourists to come and visit Ilocos. One of these is the Kannawidan Ylocos Festival which is a week-long festive of happiness for local and foreign tourists as more entertaining events are included in the celebration. Now on its 5th year, the Kannawidan Ylocos Festival had already established its identity as the prime festival of the province. The festival was launched in 2008 under the leadership of then Governor Deogracias Victor B. Savellano to commemorate the 190th foundation day of Ilocos Sur as separate province through the approval of a Spanish Royal Decree on February 2, 1818. The province has a rich heritage and unique cultures that need to be preserved for the next generations. However, many of these traditions, songs, dances and other Ilocano cultures were not already familiar to the younger generations due to the influence of the television, computer and internet. Highlights include the members of the Bayanihan Dance Company entertained the Ilocanos with their world class performance of the Beauty of the Philippines through dances, music and sounds. Their graceful movements and excellent rendition of songs and playing the indigenous musical instruments drew attractions from the crowd. Governor Luis Chait Singson and Vice Governor Savellano together with the officials of the Department of Education Division of Ilocos Sur signified the start of the different contests for elementary and high school students. These include traditional tribal rituals, choir and glee club competition, marching band contest, traditional music ensemble, dance drama, traditional and folk dances, contemporary dance competition and street dancing showdown. These events aimed to encourage young Ilocanos to learn these indigenous songs and dances for sustainability and preservation. Another important event is the Partuat ken Patanor Trade and Agri Fair. Officials from the trade and agri fair displayed all products from the different towns of the Ilocos Sur and its nearby provinces. The annual “Pinaka Contest” was also held to give citations the local farmers’ extraordinary farm and fishery products and livestock. This Kannawidan Ylocos Festival aims to create awareness on the preservation of the province’ rich cultural heritage, practices and traditions, and a showcase of the different agriculture and industry products. We, Ilocanos should all be proud of with this because we are having this for tourists to appreciate our rich culture. Moreover, let us all preserve these cultures for next generations and this will serve as our trademark as an Ilocano.

Nurture the Iloco Culture. Let's celebrate Kannawidan Festival!
